Patch 4 brings a host of community-driven improvements to the NFL PRO ERA II, a 2023 season NFL and NFLPA-licensed VR experience. Among the enhancements, the head-to-head match duration has been increased from 4 to 5 minutes, latency in freeplay mode has been improved, and an issue with the Lombardi Trophy and Super Bowl rings not showing up in the trophy room post-Super Bowl victory has been resolved. New additions include playable team balls in Mini-Games & Freeplay, an Important Message Interface, and more.

In NFL PRO ERA II, you can go head-to-head online with friends as your favorite team’s starting QB in an 11 v 11 multiplayer experience. In the revamped career mode, you can aim to accumulate the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history, thereby earning the title of the GOAT QB. The new ‘Coach’s Confidence’ feature lets you unlock abilities and play calls by making correct reads in the pocket, showcasing your command of the game. Practice your QB skills in the expanded full-field multiplayer free-play mode, where you can run drills, play virtual catch with friends, or take on a series of trick-shot challenges.

NFL PRO ERA II also introduces a new multiplayer & head-to-head mode, a multiplayer free play, an updated career mode, a new weather feature, updated audio, new sideline interactions, new player celebrations, new wristband play-calling controls, improved user movement & passing, user stamina, new locker rooms, updated tunnel run-out, and an improved game engine. Are you ready to prove you’re built for the game?

Should I play NFL Pro Era II in 2024?

The good

  • Comprehensive NFL experience with all teams and stadiums.
  • Varied gameplay modes including locker room, practice field, exhibitions, two-minute drill, and a season mode.
  • Multiplayer support offers additional replayability.
  • Coach confidence system adds depth.
  • Sideline interactions contribute to immersion (when functioning correctly).

The bad

  • Logical inconsistencies in coach feedback and playcalling.
  • Limited animations reduce believability, especially against tougher teams.
  • Throwing mechanics need improvement; frequent bizarre passes and unintentional fumbles.
  • Poor clock management and awful play calls from the coach.
  • Incomplete team rosters and lifeless sidelines.
  • Overuse of animations rather than physics, diminishing the VR experience.

Verdict

Should you dive into NFL Pro Era II in 2024? 🏈 If you’re an NFL enthusiast craving a VR experience, this game offers a rich array of modes and multiplayer options to keep you engaged. However, the mixed reviews paint a picture of a game that, while better than its predecessor, still falls short in several key areas like throwing mechanics, AI logic, and immersive realism. For the $30 price tag, it might not meet all your gridiron dreams. If you’re on the fence, you may want to wait for patches or consider other VR football titles. 🏟️
